💓 FIT File Heart Rate
Upload a FIT file to add heart rate data to your activity with smart GPS alignment
Merge Heart Rate from FIT Files
Upload a FIT file from another device or activity to merge heart rate data into your current activity. Perfect for activities where HR was recorded on a separate device.
How it works
When an activity is imported without heart rate data (e.g., treadmill or Pool swim), FitGlue creates a pending input request for a FIT file upload. You can then upload the FIT file containing HR data (e.g., from a chest strap syncing to a different device or from Peloton). FitGlue extracts the heart rate samples and merges them with your activity.
Smart GPS Alignment
When your activity has GPS data, FitGlue uses an "Elastic Match" algorithm to align the uploaded heart rate data with your GPS timestamps. This handles minor clock drift between devices automatically, ensuring your HR matches the correct location points.
